Liz Moughon is a cinematographer at ProPublica currently based in Brooklyn, NY. With a background in photojournalism, she is drawn to stories about healing from loss and spaces of commonality in our society. She was the DP on ProPublica’s first in-house documentary feature film, about the crisis of stillbirths in the US, which is currently in post-production.
Her short documentary Losing Kyle was published in The San Francisco Chronicle and recognized with a Northern California Emmy. Her ongoing Type 1 Diabetes self-portrait series was featured in The Washington Post. She has also contributed to the The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and NPR. She is an alum of Ohio University, the Danish School of Media and Journalism, the Eddie Adams Workshop and is a FAA certified drone operator.
